When I arrived in Italy in 2010, I was most excited to discover that, similar to China, there are a host of different dialects and local languages present in Italy. I was fortunate enough to have travelled all over Italy and have collaborated with various musicians to discover these beautiful songs in different local dialects.

This project first started as a Youtube video series, which then turned into a live performance when Manuel and I performed at the General States of the Italian Language Worldwide 2016 organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We recorded this album in one single day, which wouldn’t have been possible if it hadn’t been for this continuous collaboration with Manuel over the past few years.

Through these wondrously beautiful songs, I hope to take everyone on a journey through different parts of Italy, showcasing the country’s cultural and linguistic diversity.
Special thanks to my good friend and pianist Manuel who has accompanied me on tour in Italy and China, as well as recording both my previous and current albums. His arrangement and performance of these songs make them comes alive!

Thank you to all the musicians and friends who have participated in the “Heidi Canta In Tutti I Dialetti” project.

Thank you to Italian Cultural Institute of Hong Kong and its Director Stefano Fossati for support!
